Mr. Ravi Jain
With over 17 years PQE, Ravi has advised eminent business houses, project developers, banks and financial institutions, governments and
public sector undertakings in transactions pertaining to domestic and cross border M&A, private equity investments, debt funding, corporate
and commercial transactions and disputes. In respect of the above, his primary focus has been on infrastructure, energy and natural resources sector including government procurements. He is a retained partner with Economic Laws Practice and has worked on senior levels in the infra and energy teams of AZB& Partners and Khaitan & Company in Mumbai. Ravi also has notable experience in independently handling commercial arbitrations, writing petitions and original and appellate civil and criminal litigations. Ravi has consistently advised clients on project risk assessments, regulatory issues and law and documentation in power (renewable as well as non-renewable), mining, roads, seaports, oil and gas, logistics and aviation sectors. For transactions in the above sectors, he has successfully advised clients on investment structuring and has drafted, and negotiated investment agreements such as share purchase agreements, subscription agreements and other ancillary documents. He has also drafted project contracts such as EPC contracts, O&M agreements, private concession agreements, project management agreements, infrastructure sharing contracts, technology licensing agreements, power evacuation contracts, power purchase agreements, transmission and distribution agreements, fuel sourcing contracts, mine development agreements, oil and gas sales and transportation agreements, production sharing contracts, joint operating agreements, port service agreements and leases, etc. Ravi has acted as lenders’ legal counsel in high value domestic and international consortium lending transactions and has also advised borrowers as their legal counsel in debt transactions. He has also advised resolution professionals in some eminent corporate insolvency resolution matters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
