Ms. Myriam Seers

 

Myriam practices litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on investor-state arbitration, international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation involving clients in the mining, electricity, oil and gas, and transportation sectors. She also has experience with regulatory proceedings, and related litigation, involving natural gas and electricity transmission and distribution, and electricity generation.

Myriam has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, in international arbitrations under the ICSID, UNCITRAL and ICC Rules, in all levels of Ontario and Canadian federal courts, before Ontario administrative tribunals including the Ontario Energy Board and the Environmental Review Tribunal, and in domestic arbitrations.

Myriam is the Vice-Chair of the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee. She is ranked as an “Up and Coming” lawyer in arbitration by Chambers Canada and as an arbitration Future Leader by Who’s Who Legal.

Myriam was the recipient of the Advocates’ Society’s Young Advocates’ Standing Committee 2018 Civility Award, awarded each year to an advocate of up to ten years of call who epitomizes the principles of civility and professionalism in their practice.
